FAQS

Refrigeration:

  • Check the thermostat. It should be set to “COOL” and the temperature set to anywhere between 21C to 23C.
  • DO NOT set the thermostat lower the 21C. Doing so WILL NOT make the room cooler faster! It will allow the air-conditioner to run continuously and eventually freezer up resulting in NO cooling.
  • Check the breakers. If the breaker was accidentally turned off then turn it back on. If it has tripped (in a half way position) try re-setting the breaker. If it trips again, do not re-set the breaker – call us.
  • When is the last time the air filters were changed? For most air-conditioning systems we recommend the air filters be changed every 3 to 4 months. Dirty air filters will cause inadequate air flow which can cause malfunctions of the system.
  • Check the breakers. If the breaker was accidentally turned off then turn it back on. If it has tripped (in a half way position) try re-setting the breaker. If it trips again, do not re-set the breaker – call us.
  • Is the case overloaded? These are designed to create an air curtain from the top / back of the case to the lower / front. If product is stacked preventing air to flow to and from these grills the case will run warm.
  • Check the breakers. If the breaker was accidentally turned off then turn it back on. If it has tripped (in a half way position) try re-setting the breaker. If it trips again, do not re-set the breaker – call us.
  • Are the fans inside running? If not, the system may be in defrost, this is normal. Record the time and re-check in about half an hour. If the fans inside are still not running – call us.
  • If it is a water-cooled compressor unit check the water supply. Sometimes the supply valve might be shut off by accident, or water supply in the building might have been temporarily interrupted.
  • Check the accuracy of the thermometer measuring the temperature. It is always a good idea to check its accuracy with a quality electronic pocket style thermometer.
  • Always ensure that staff are closing the door properly when exiting.
  • Check the breakers. If the breaker was accidentally turned off then turn it back on. If it has tripped (in a half way position) try re-setting the breaker. If it trips again, do not re-set the breaker – call us.
  • Ensure the water supply to the machine has not been shut off.
  • Most ice machines are air-cooled. Always ensure there is adequate space around the machine for ventilation. Ice machines do not work well in hot environments.
  • If your machine has a water filter installed on the water supply inlet it is recommended the filter be replaced every 3 months depending on the usage. A dirty filter will cause inadequate water flow to the machine which will affect its operation.

  • TransCold provides direction with 3 critical elements for a successful expansion project.  Planning, Scheduling and Budgeting. We work closely with companies, general contractors and project managers to complete projects on time and on budget.
  • You start by asking TransCold for a free evaluation of your application, home or business. Maintenance free batteries store energy to power essential loads during power outages. Solar panels or small wind turbines recharge the same batteries to extend runtime during outages. TransCold designs and installs affordable, zero emission backup power systems.
  • Yes.  Your EV car dealer most likely sold you the charger that is appropriate for the particular EV model. If you purchased a charger off the internet, it is important to confirm if the charging settings (algorithms – voltage/current/time) are correct for your EV, TransCold can help.
